Butt / Flash Butt Welding Machine

Flash Butt Welding is a resistance welding process that does not require overlapping of welding material. It is commonly used to join same or different cross-sections in pipes, rods, bars, sheets, or plates. Butt welding is also known as Upset welding. The heat for welding is generated by resistance to electric current flowing through contacts between the moving and stationary parts. When the welding piece makes contact, the material begins to flash and sparks (metal losses) emerge from the welding zone. The flashing process heats the cross-section of the welding piece, followed by the butt welding (Upset) process. The upset process accelerates the moving part towards the stationary part with higher current. High speed and continuous pressure welds the two pieces together.
